Salary Packaging
Clown Doctors Australia offers staff the full range of not-for-profit salary packaging. This means you can use up to $18,550* to pay for everyday expenses before your tax is calculated – you pay less tax and have more money to spend.
*$15,900 for everyday purchases (rent, mortgage, credit card payments, school fees) and $2,650 for entertainment (dine-out meals, hotel bookings, car hire, catering etc.).
Additional Leave
At CDA we close our offices between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and those days are given to staff as additional leave. Save those precious few days and take a well-earned break at another time of the year!
Truly Flexible Work Practices
We love working at Clown Doctors Australia. We also recognise that people live full lives and that balancing your work and home life are important. We are adept at working with team members to establish work hours that support this balance, giving you peace of mind in your personal life and enabling you to be productive when working – win, win!
More than half our staff are part-time, and we understand that people work part-time for a reason. We respect those work-life boundaries.
In Sydney we work in a shared office, a sleek modern space with all the amenities you need. Our teams rotate in throughout the week, with one anchor day per team. Most staff members work 1 or 2 days in the office and the rest from home. Our non-Sydney staff all work from home.
Opportunities to Experience and Connect with Our Work
While some of our staff interact with our performers – Clown Doctors and Laughter Care Specialists – day-to-day, we make sure all our staff have opportunities to stay connected to the work and its impact, regardless of their role.
These opportunities might include: attending our National Conference where all performers come together to upskill and practice their work (once every 12-18 months); being able to go on observation rounds to see the wonders of our Clown Doctors and Laughter Care programs up close; or hearing stories from the floor from our performers, or feedback and reflections from families.
Diversity Equity and Inclusion
From artists to administrators, we have a wide range of roles and people across our staff and performer groups. Our DEI working group assists us in continually fostering a work environment where our people feel that they belong and we are able to connect with our beneficiaries as effectively as possible. Access to Support: Employee Assistance Program
We have a 10-year relationship with an organisation that provides confidential Employee Assistance counselling services. They know our work and our culture and bring their qualifications and expertise to support you if there are topics you wish to discuss with them.
