Staff Training
The Staff Intensive workshop is a deeper dive into the application of Laughter Care principles and techniques. It involves collaboration between staff and residents.
Staff participants will begin in a small group setting to deepen their understanding of key Laughter Care techniques. Then staff join residents in a larger group to further explore these techniques and principles in practice. The workshop concludes with a staff-only session dedicated to reflection and the development of ongoing strategies to integrate these approaches into their daily work.
The workshop is designed for staff who are seeking new ways to engage with the residents they care for and will be delivered by an experienced Laughter Care facilitator.
Staff Intensive Workshop/s Structure
Content Summary
Staff Intensive Workshops are activity based. Staff will learn by doing, including through games and exercises relating to selected techniques. For example: Waiting/Listening; Affirmation; Saying Yes, not No; Yes, and…; Imaginative journeys; Compliments. Participants have the opportunity to practise techniques and reflect on their experience, provoking moments of joy, play and laughter and equipping staff with techniques to bring more playfulness into their roles.
Duration: 2.5 hours (1 hour staff only, 1 hour staff & residents, 30 mins staff only reflection)
Options: Best practice, 4 workshops, over 4-8 weeks.
Can be reduced to less than 4 workshops, although this limits content and reduces the extent to which techniques can be practiced / embedded
Number of Participants: Up to 5 staff
