CommBank Matildas Bring Smiles to Royal North Shore Hospital
There were plenty of smiles at Royal North Shore Hospital when CommBank Matildas stars Steph Catley, Alex Chidiac and Winonah Heatley joined our Clown Doctors, Dr Toot and Dr Splash, on their rounds through the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Paediatric Unit.
Together, they spent time with children, families and hospital staff, sharing thoughtful gifts, signing jerseys and creating moments of connection and joy. From playful interactions at the bedside to surprise visits throughout the wards, the players experienced firsthand the power of laughter and human connection in a healthcare setting.
The visit was made possible through our ongoing partnership with Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and CommBank, helping create meaningful experiences for children and families during what can often be a challenging time.
Clown Doctors Australia CEO Emma Pollard attended the visit and reflected on the importance of these partnerships.
‘We are so grateful for our partnership with the NSLHD and CommBank and love to bring these opportunities to help create meaningful experiences for patients, families and staff,’ said Emma.
Growing our Reach at Royal North Shore Hospital
Thanks to the generous support of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, we recently expanded our Clown Doctors visits at Royal North Shore Hospital from one day to two days per week, making more space for courage, resilience and hope for children, families and healthcare teams across the hospital.
Whether it’s a shared laugh, a favourite song, a signed jersey or a moment of playful distraction, these experiences can make a meaningful difference. Support from our community helps make moments like these possible. We are grateful to the CommBank Matildas, Northern Sydney Local Health District and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation for helping us bring more smiles and joy to sick children in hospital.
