After nearly 30 years of bringing laughter where it is unexpected yet most needed, we are beginning a bold new chapter. Clown Doctors Australia will now be known as Clown Doctors Australia.
Even though our name has changed, our Clown Doctors and Laughter Care programs will continue to transform care through imagination, creative play and moments of authentic human connection. We will continue to enhance wellbeing through the uplifting power of humour because we believe in a future where people don’t fear hospital visits or ageing alone.

Why are you changing the name?
This rebrand reflects more than a name change; it is a renewed commitment to purpose, to the people we serve and the supporters who make our work possible.
Our new name creates a more direct connection between our organisation and our world-class Clown Doctors and Laughter Care programs, highlights our national reach, and reinforces our role as a vital contributor to a compassionate, well-functioning health system. It gives us a stronger platform to grow, build trust, and deliver even greater impact into the future.
What does Clown Doctors Australia stand for?
At Clown Doctors Australia our purpose is to enhance wellbeing through the uplifting power of humour. We believe we can improve care at every level through imagination, creative play and authentic human connection. Our impact is grounded in science and delivered with heart. We are serious about our silliness, because laughter is not a distraction from care, it is a vital part of it.
In children’s hospitals, our Clown Doctors make space for courage, resilience and hope. Our Laughter Care program engages aged care residents and older people in hospital, rekindling identity, building connections, and bringing joy to the care experience.
